In the cultural field there is much to see in Friesland, not for nothing is Leeuwarden in 2018 Cultural Capital of Europe. Admire the Frisian treasures in the dozens of museums that the province of Fryslân has. You can not miss larger museums such as the Fries Museum in Leeuwarden, Belvédère Museum in Heerenveen and the Fries Scheepvaartmuseum in Sneek. The Eise Eisinga planetarium in Franeker and the Jopie Huisman Museum in Workum are world famous. And the Ir. D.F. Woudagemaal in Lemmer belongs to World Heritage (UNESCO).

The Planetarium room and the impressive radar work form the oldest planetarium in the world that still works. But there is more to see! The former cloud mansion of Eisinga, astronomical instruments, a cinema, changing exhibitions and attention to modern astronomy.
